A One-Hour Documentary

Last Comic Trying explores the world of comedian Jimmy Wiggins, AKA "the Last Hippie in America."

After formerly sharing the stage with Robin Williams, writing for David Letterman, and appearing on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Last Comic Standing, Wiggins now finds himself back in his home state of Illinois, touring rural bars and clubs after forty years of chasing the limelight.

Despite the onset of old age and a life blighted by tragedy, Wiggins refuses to quit making people laugh. And because of all he has experienced, no subject is taboo. He offers unexpected insights into loss, family, war, and what it's like to be an elderly embodiment of the counter-culture. When his back aches land him in the doctor's office and on meds he observes, "As someone who never bought legal drugs, I had no idea the quality!"

Last Comic Trying depicts Wiggins' unique showbiz journey through footage of his unusual stand-up act, life on the road, and hilarious yet poignant moments of reflection on his remarkable life and career while settled in his own personal 'green room.'
